
The International Human Rights Commission and the Sri Hela Cultural Cooperation Foundation together with their voluntary programs held a special ophthalmology for the residents of the villages of the North Central Province on November 20, 2021 at Galen Biduna Veva village in Anuradhapura district.
According to Director General Dr. Krishantha Dissanayake, Peace Ambassador of the International Human Rights Commission and Founder Chairman of the Sri Hela Cultural Cooperation Foundation, confirmed that nearly 102 people in three villages in the North Central Province benefited from the program. “Among them, 36 were advised to consult a doctor for surgery and also given clinical advice for certain disorders. He added that 48 people have been advised to use spectacles.
The members of the International Human Rights Commission of the North Central Province of Sri Lanka and the Board of Directors of the Sri Hela Cultural Cooperation Foundation contributed greatly to the success of the event.
For this occasion, Sri Hela Cultural Cooperation Foundation’s Director of Women and Children’s Affairs Ms. Sakura Wasanthi Panditaratne, Ms. Kaweesha Sanjana Perera, Ms. Sitari Neranjani Jayaratne, Ms. Udara Bandara Ratnayake and other officials contributed resources.
