As a voluntary aid program of the Special Monitoring Mission of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC SMM), on 18th September 2023, the Special Monitoring Mission to Sri Lanka officials provided educational materials to school children in Sri Lanka for World Ozone Day and International Day of Clean Air for a Blue Sky. A distribution and special awareness program was organized.
According to Dr. Chrishantha Dissanayake, The commissioner of Sri Lanka at International Human Rights Commission and Founder / chairman / Director General of Shri Hela Cultural Collaboration Foundation. Mr. Pradeep de Silva and Miss Supun Madhu participated in this program.

The guest speaker was retired Major General R.M.K.B. Mr. Ambawa asked the children who participated in the program to know that the ozone layer directly affects human existence and that it is man’s duty and responsibility to protect it.

This special program was held at Heratgama Primary School in Nikaveratiya Education Zone in the North West Province of Sri Lanka. School equipment was provided to 40 children from low-income families in that school. This program was organized and supported by Miss Supun Madhu, North West Provincial Coordinator of the International Human Rights Commission. About one and a half lakh rupees in Sri Lanka currency was spent for this program
